requires all scrap yards to ask for identification before purchasing scrap. http://www.legis.state.wi.us/lrb/pubs/Lb/08Lb4.pdf
Question: Do you offer pick-up service for
residential customers? Answer: Yes, we do and more often than not we are able to pay you
for your material. However, at times there is a charge if the amount of material being picked up is a small or
if it contains freon units.

is there someone there to help me unload? Answer: Yes.

Question:
Do you take alkaline or Ni/Cad batteries? Answer: Yes, but there is a charge per pound.
Question: Do you take dehumidifiers? Answer: Yes, but there is
a charge because these units have freon in them and it needs to be removed and disposed of properly (please note that humidifiers
do not contain freon, only dehumidifiers do.) Question: Does this mean I'll eventually have
to get rid of my refrigerator because it uses Freon? Answer: At this point the chances of that happening are highly unlikely. Refrigerators
use very little Freon usually between 4 and 8 ounces. The chance of them starting to leak during normal operating conditions
is quite slight. And unlike an automobile's air conditioner, they never need to be recharged and, for that matter, very seldom
get into collisions. :>) This is why even though your refrigerator may not be working it doesn't mean that there
is no freon. The meaning of the term hermetic means the system is sealed to the atmosphere. On a typical
refrigerator compressor , its electric motor runs right in the Freon gas, the only connection to the outside is the three
electrical terminals. Another factor in your refrigerator's favour is that there are just so many of them. The new blended
drop in replacements for R12, R406 and R409 will currently be available until the year 2020.
Question:
Do you take paint, oil, or other substances of the like? Answer: No, we do not. Sturgeon
Bay Utilities (920) 746-2820 has a hazardous material drop off a couple of times per year. You can contact
the Brown County Facility (920) 492-4950 and they can help you with this.
Question: Do
you take old mattresses, toilets or sinks? Answer: To keep it simple we take all metal.
If your sink or toilet is metal and not porcelain, we will take it. Beyond that, if it is not metal, we do not
take it.
Question: Do you accept pressure tanks? Answer: Yes,
but the valve stems must be removed; otherwise, there is a charge.
